These old photographs have been sent to the Telegraph & Argus by a former Bradfordian who now lives in Bexhill-on-Sea in Sussex.

Mrs. Elizabeth Chesher, now aes 81,was born in Leylands Lane, Heaton, Bradford, and lived there until she left the area in her 30s. Her father, Mr. Thomas Waiblinger Bateman, was a founder member of Bingley Grammar School, and he worked for Hyde's cotton company from an office in Swan Arcade, Market Street, Bradford.

Mrs. Chesher says she can remember being taken for walks by her father around the areas pictured on the postcards.
